A recent report from South Korea's ETNews indicates that the component supply chain for the iPhone 18 Pro series' variable aperture cameras has officially commenced operations. Reports suggest that China's Sunny Optical has started trial production of the actuators needed for these cameras.

An anonymous industry source has confirmed that LG Innotek is on track to begin producing camera modules for the iPhone 18 Pro between June and July. This source also revealed that LG has set up specialized equipment for the production of variable aperture cameras at its Gumi plant in South Korea.

The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are anticipated to be the first iPhones to feature variable aperture for their main cameras. This rumor has been reiterated multiple times and is widely considered credible at this point.
