Disable YouTube Shorts on Mobile: A New Feature for Users

In an effort to enhance user experience, YouTube has introduced a new feature that allows mobile users to completely disable YouTube Shorts. This update is available for both iOS and Android devices, catering to users who wish to manage their time spent on the platform more effectively.

The new option complements YouTube's existing time management tools, which previously permitted users to set specific limits on their Shorts viewing duration. Users can now select a 0-minutes option to entirely turn off access to the Shorts Feed.

Previously, the lowest limit for viewing Shorts was set at 15 minutes. With this update, users have the flexibility to completely avoid YouTube Shorts, eliminating the temptation to scroll endlessly through short-form content.

To enable this feature, navigate to the Time management section in the YouTube app's Settings. Once activated, any attempt to access the Shorts tab will show a 'time limit reached' message, effectively blocking further access to the feed.
