Apple Innovates Siri 2.0: Multi-Tasking and Enhanced AI Capabilities on the Horizon

Source: Date:

Apple is gearing up for significant advancements in Siri with the expected release of Siri 2.0. As the tech giant tests new capabilities, users are eager to anticipate how these improvements will enhance their interaction with the digital assistant. With features that could elevate Siri to compete with top AI chatbots, Apple aims to deliver a more intuitive and capable experience for its users.

New Features Expected in Siri 2.0

Recent reports indicate that while the iOS 26.5 Beta 1 release did not include elements of Siri 2.0, subsequent updates could bring exciting changes for users. Traditionally, the initial Beta release of a major iOS build follows the WWDC Keynote, which is set for June 8, 2026. As anticipation builds, users should prepare for a Beta testing phase that may have its share of bugs, particularly in major updates like iOS 27.

Siri Aims for Multi-Tasking Capability

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is currently testing an exciting enhancement for Siri, allowing the virtual assistant to manage multiple tasks within a single query. This functionality aims to match the performance of contemporary AI chatbots. Users would eventually be able to ask Siri to check the weather, send a text, and schedule an event seamlessly in one command, a far cry from the current model where each request must be made separately.

Rivaling AI Chatbots with Expanded Parameters

To further elevate its capabilities, Siri 2.0 is set for what has been humorously termed a "brain transplant," significantly enhancing its AI structure. The new deal with Google will provide Apple with a custom Gemini model featuring 1.2 trillion parameters—an impressive eight times the current capacity. This upgrade promises to enhance Siri’s ability to complete multi-step tasks, handle complex queries, and interact more fluidly with different apps.

Improvements Beyond Siri

Aside from advancements to Siri, there's news that Apple is also improving its virtual keyboard. The goal is to offer users alternative word choices to correct the often frustrating autocorrect feature. However, it's still undecided whether this feature will launch alongside the forthcoming updates.
