Apple's iPhone Fold: Key Details on Crease Size Revealed in Latest Leak

Source: Date:

Apple has long been cautious about entering the foldable smartphone market, primarily due to challenges related to crease durability. However, this year, the company is anticipated to launch the iPhone Fold, marking its first venture into this arena, featuring a nearly crease-free folding display from Samsung.

Recent leaks from China provide insights into the crease specifications of the device. Reports suggest the crease measured is under 0.15mm, with a fold angle of less than 2.5 degrees. While this does not make the iPhone Fold completely crease-free, it is very close to that standard.

The iPhone Fold is rumored to debut in September, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. In addition, the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are expected to launch in spring 2027. The iPhone Fold will likely feature a camera design reminiscent of the iPhone Air, equipped with two sensors (as depicted in the image above). For user authentication, it is rumored to utilize Touch ID embedded in the power button on the right side of the device.
