Rumors of a Meta smartwatch first emerged in 2021, accompanied by leaked images in 2022, though reports suggested the project was ultimately shelved. However, a recent report indicates that Meta has revived this smartwatch initiative and aims to release it this year.
According to The Information, which cites insiders familiar with the project, Meta’s forthcoming smartwatch, internally codenamed Malibu 2, is anticipated to launch in 2026. This device is expected to feature health-tracking capabilities along with integrated Meta AI functionalities.
