At the end of last year, Honor launched the "Play" series in China with the entry-level 5G smartphone, the Play 60A. Now, a nearly identical device, the Honor X6d, has surfaced in stores in the United Arab Emirates. This launch marks an exciting development for the brand.
The Honor X6d closely resembles the Play 60A, with the primary distinction being its upgraded 50MP f/2.0 camera, an enhancement over the 13MP f/2.2 camera found in the 60A. While it remains the sole lens on the rear and supports video recording at a maximum of 1080p at 30fps, this upgrade is noteworthy. The front-facing 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera remains unchanged.
Another slight variation is in the battery capacity, which is 5,260mAh compared to the 5,300mAh of the Play 60A. This difference is minimal, potentially indicating they use the same battery with different labels rather than a distinct power capacity.

The Honor X6d is powered by the Dimensity 6300, a basic 6nm chipset known for its budget-friendly price and efficient 5G modem. It is equipped with 4GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, though there is no information available regarding expandable memory. The device operates on Android 15, likely with MagicOS layered on top.
Featuring a 6.75-inch LCD display with a 720p+ resolution, the phone offers a decent viewing experience. Details regarding a fingerprint reader are not provided in the store listing, but if included, it would presumably be located on the side.
This is a dual-SIM device, although additional specs such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities are not specified. The Play 60A, for context, includes Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX HD support, but lacks NFC functionality.
Retailing at AED 509, the Honor X6d converts to approximately $138, €116, or ₹12,555. Consumers can choose between two color options: Midnight Black and Ocean Cyan.

Interestingly, a recent certification from the GCF indicates that the X6d has a model number of NLA-NX1, which is also associated with another device known as the Honor 500 Smart.
There are several Honor 500 models already available in China, characterized by an iPhone Air-like design and substantial battery capacities (some reaching 8,000mAh). However, the Honor X6d or 500 Pro does not meet these specifications.
Thank you for the tip!
