iQOO recently held its third edition of Prive Night in India, inviting YouTubers, influencers, and tech media to unveil the iQOO 15R, which is set to launch on February 24. We attended this event for an early look at the device.

The iQOO 15R marks the first 'R' model in iQOO's Indian lineup. It targets young professionals seeking a compact smartphone that combines a powerful chipset with a substantial battery. More on this shortly.

Here's our first look at the upcoming iQOO 15R

Available in two colors, the iQOO 15R features a black option named Dark Knight and a silver variant with a checkered design called Triumph Silver.

The Dark Knight model, which may appear grey under certain lighting, offers a sleek aesthetic ideal for formal settings. In contrast, the Triumph Silver version caters to casual users, with its checkered pattern becoming apparent when light reflects at the right angles.

The camera design resembles that of the iQOO 15, featuring dual cameras, with the primary one equipped with a 50MP Sony LYT-700 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS). The front sports a punch-hole display, though its diagonal size has yet to be confirmed by iQOO.

Under the hood, the device boasts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC and a robust 7,600 mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging and bypass charging capabilities.

We appreciate the overall design of the iQOO 15R, which offers enhanced one-hand usability compared to the larger iQOO 15. The build quality is commendable, and the Triumph Silver color variant stands out as our favorite.

While iQOO has yet to detail the full specifications of the iQOO 15R, it has verified that the smartphone will feature the Q2 Supercomputing Chip, a 6.5K IceCore VC Cooling System, and the ability to support 144 FPS gaming in BGMI through frame interpolation technology.

The iQOO 15R will operate on OriginOS 6 and will receive OS updates for four years along with security updates for six years. The base model will be priced below INR 50,000.
