Google Contacts App Introduces a Better Sharing Interface
The Google Contacts app, available on both Android and iOS, has undergone a significant user interface update aimed at improving how users share contact information. With the necessity of Contacts apps arising from the need to access contact details on non-phone devices such as tablets, this update seeks to enhance the sharing experience directly from the app.
Previously, users had to navigate multiple screens to share contact information efficiently. This update aims to streamline that process, making it more straightforward and visually appealing. In fact, the update centers around simplifying how users share vCard details while ensuring that they have control over the information they send.

Recent Highlights
The new vCard sharing interface allows users to selectively share information. You can easily check or uncheck what you wish to share using "X" marks in the respective boxes. This ensures that the information being sent is both relevant and concise. Furthermore, the updated design employs the Dynamic Color Theme to enhance visibility, making it easier to distinguish which details are included in the share.
How to Customize Information Shared via vCard
To share a contact, whether it’s Peter Pixel or anyone else, simply open the Google Contacts app or navigate through the Phone by Google app and tap on Contacts. After selecting a contact, scroll to the Share contact option. You'll see a prompt that allows you to choose which details to share. Make sure to mark the boxes next to the desired information, ensuring that all details you want to share are selected.
A review box appears listing all the information you intend to share before you finalize sending it. Although it requires an additional step, this ensures that users have full control over the information shared. Upon hitting the Share button, a share sheet will surface, allowing you to select your recipient. For those who need to download the Google Contacts app, it is available on the Google Play Store.
