Late last year, reports indicated that Huawei was developing a successor to the Pura X. New details regarding the upcoming Pura X2 have recently emerged.
According to a tipster on Weibo, the Huawei Pura X2 will feature a significantly wider inner display compared to its predecessor. While the original Pura X adopted a flip-style foldable design, it did not conform to the typical clamshell foldable format.
Huawei Pura X2 mockupThe Pura X2 is expected to maintain a design similar to the original model but with noticeably larger displays on both the inner and outer sides. It is anticipated to feature a 7.5-inch inner foldable screen.
The original Pura X placed the cover display and camera module on the same side. In a redesign, the Pura X2 is expected to introduce a larger cover screen on one half, while relocating the camera setup to the other side of the device.
Huawei Pura XThe upcoming device will reportedly feature a quad-camera setup, a redesigned hinge, and will be available in multiple variants powered by the Kirin 9020, 9030, and 9030 Pro chipsets. The Pura X2 is also expected to offer configurations of up to 20GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. On the software side, it will likely run HarmonyOS 6.1 and include an AI assistant.
The phone is rumored to launch in six color options: blue, black, green, orange, purple, and white. Initially, the tipster claimed the Pura X2 would showcase a 200MP primary rear camera; however, this detail was later removed.
Huawei unveiled the original Pura X in March last year; therefore, the Pura X2 is likely to debut in China around the same time this year.
