A couple of weeks ago, Realme introduced the 16 Pro and 16 Pro+, currently available only in India. Despite being slightly expensive, these smartphones boast impressive specifications that could attract buyers in other markets.
The Realme 16 Pro+ features a remarkable 200MP main camera (1/1.56”, OIS) paired with a 50MP 3.5x periscope (1/2.76”, f/2.8, OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP selfie module. While it is not flawless—especially concerning video stabilization and ultra-wide video quality—it outperforms many mid-range competitors, most of which lack a dedicated telephoto lens.

In our review, the device's 7,000mAh battery earned one of the highest Active Use Scores in its category, clocking in at 18:18 hours. Although the 80W charging is not the fastest available, it remains efficient. The downside is its starting price of ₹40,000 for the basic 8/128GB version, which is ₹10,000 higher than some rivals.

The Realme 16 Pro is more budget-friendly at ₹32,000, making it a more competitive option. Although it shares the same 200MP main camera as the Pro+ (notably performing well in 2x zoom) and features the same 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging, it lacks the periscope camera that distinguishes the Pro+. Additionally, it is powered by a less formidable chipset—the Dimensity 7300 Max instead of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.

Other minor downgrades include a plastic frame instead of an aluminum one and a different glass covering the display. Overall, the periscope camera and superior chipset are strong arguments for choosing the Pro+, while saving ₹8,000 makes a compelling case for picking the Pro.
