The Realme Neo8 has officially launched in China, marking the latest addition to the Neo series. This smartphone features an impressive 8,000mAh battery and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. It is available for purchase in three striking colors.
Equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, the Neo8 boasts a Full-HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. It employs a Samsung M14 panel, which is said to achieve a peak brightness of 6,500 nits.
On the rear, the phone showcases a unique transparent design featuring an ‘Awakening Halo’ RGB light strip that responds to notifications and other alerts. The rear panel is made of glass and enhances the overall aesthetic with its transparency. The Neo8 is housed in a metal frame and carries an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.
The smartphone boasts a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP Sony IMX896 primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP JN5 periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, it features a 16MP front-facing camera.
The device's 8,000mAh battery supports 80W SuperVOOC charging, along with bypass charging capabilities.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC is accompanied by UFS 4.1 storage and LPDDR5X RAM, as well as a large vapor chamber for effective cooling. The Neo8 runs on Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0, packed with various AI features, and is anticipated to receive three years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches.
Additional specifications of the Realme Neo8 include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, infrared blaster, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, and stereo speakers. The phone measures 8.3mm in thickness and weighs 215g.
Currently, the Realme Neo8 is available for sale in China in Cyber Purple, Mecha Grey, and Origin White color options.
The pricing begins at CNY 2,599 ($370) for the 12GB/256GB model, while the 12GB/512GB variant costs CNY 3,099 ($445). Additionally, a 16GB/256GB option is priced at CNY 2,899 ($415), and a 16GB/512GB model is offered for CNY 3,399 ($490). Finally, the 16GB/1TB version is available for CNY 3,899 ($560).
