Rumors indicate that the base iPhone 18 is set to launch in early 2027, featuring a display akin to that of the current iPhone 17. However, a recent leak suggests that the upcoming model may deliver enhanced brightness.

According to tipster Instant Digital via Weibo, display manufacturer BOE might struggle to provide OLED panels for the iPhone 18 due to Apple’s demanding brightness specifications.

New leak suggests iPhone 18 may sport a brighter display

This development implies that the iPhone 18 could showcase a significantly brighter display compared to the iPhone 17, which currently boasts a typical maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, reaches up to 1,600 nits in HDR, and peaks at 3,000 nits.

Recent leaks suggest that the iPhone 18 will feature a 6.27-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with Dynamic Island.

Additionally, the iPhone 18 is rumored to break from Apple’s traditional September launch schedule, potentially debuting in early 2027 alongside the more budget-friendly iPhone 18e.
