A new report from ETNews sources within the supply chain reveals that Apple plans to debut advanced LTPO+ OLED panels in its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models.

These LTPO+ displays are expected to be more energy-efficient and will enable Apple to position the IR scanner, used for Face ID, beneath the display. There are also indications that Apple may relocate the selfie camera behind the screen without sacrificing image quality.
However, this transition will likely exclude the Chinese panel manufacturer BOE from Apple's supply chain for the Pro models, as only LG and Samsung are capable of producing LTPO+ OLED displays. BOE may still supply panels for the non-Pro models.
The report additionally mentions that Apple intends to implement LTPO+ displays in its redesigned M6 MacBook Pro.
