Samsung Introduces Innovative Brain Health Feature for Early Dementia Detection

Source: Date:

At CES next month, Samsung plans to showcase an innovative new Brain Health feature designed to detect early signs of dementia in its standalone exhibition space.

This feature will analyze various metrics and will complement Samsung's existing preventive healthcare tools, such as blood pressure monitoring, ECG capabilities, and notifications for irregular heart rhythms.

Samsung's upcoming Brain Health feature detects early signs of dementia

The Brain Health feature leverages data collected from Samsung smartphones and smartwatches, analyzing gait patterns, vocal changes, and sleep status. Through this analysis, it aims to identify cognitive decline and early signs of dementia.

Should cognitive decline be detected, the feature will offer recommendations for preventative measures and a personalized "brain training" program designed to enhance cognitive function. Developed in-house by Samsung, this feature is currently undergoing clinical validation trials in collaboration with medical institutions. The official release date for the Brain Health feature remains uncertain.
